In 2010 HCB are either supporting specific clubs to establish U11 girls sections or to help strengthen existing sections.  The programme is designed to introduce girls into the sport and provide them with opportunities to train and play competitive games on a regular basis within a club environment.

The programme involves HCB Community Coaches delivering taster sessions for girls within primary schools from September to December.  Girls that are interested in joining the club are then invited to attend a ‘club intro’ session to give them a taste of club cricket.  The club intro session is closely followed by a six week winter training programme hosted by the club, from January onwards, which aims to prepare the squad for matches during the summer.
