Hampshire's Elite Disability Cricket Program is based around two county squads participating in the BACD (British Association for Cricketers with Disabilities) County Championship. The squads consist of players with either physical or learning disabilities and have been partly responsible for the development of four international learning disability cricketers.
The Elite Hardball Squad have been very successful over the past two years finishing runners up in 2008 and reaching the semi-finals in 2009. In 2010, Simon Hammond has been appointed as Head Coach and the team are hoping to build on a successful winter training program to reach the very top of the disability game.
The Development Incrediball Squad plays with a softer ball and has been the starting point for a number of players now playing in the Elite Hardball Squad. This team continues to make progress under the watchful eye of Head Coach Geoff Eddy and having almost upset, eventual County Champions, Somerset on the main pitch at the Rose Bowl in 2009 they are looking forward to a successful 2010 season.
Fixture details are available in the County Squads Section of the website.
