Cricket Development Office

The Cricket Development Office, along with its key partners, is the vehicle to develop the recreational game across Hampshire.

Ben Thompson heads up a team of 9 including 3 Cricket Development Officers, a Performance CDO, 4 Community Cricket Coaches and the Board Administrator.

John Cook is managing the Coach Education and Holiday Course programmes.

Two CDOs support activity within specific districts, giving them the opportunity to work closely with their key partners, District Associations and member clubs, with particular emphasis on supporting clubs through ClubMark accreditation and Development Planning.

Greig Stewart supports South East and New Forest, is also working on development of Disability cricket in support of Jeff Levick, the Disability Co-ordinator, and is also responsible for Junior County Club competitions.

Mike Pollard works with Winchester and North Hants Districts, on Women and Girls cricket, and on Schools Kwik Cricket and Inter Cricket competitions.

Greig and Mike are supported by four Part Time (12 hours per week) Community Cricket Coaches (Charlie Freeston, Simon Hammond, Paul Proudley, Chris Wheeler) who work in each of the four Districts across Hampshire. They are deployed by their CDO to deliver into schools, clubs and on behalf of District Associations.

Colin Savage and Andy Sharp
Board Administrators, provides support to the Development team and the Board Executive and Committees, and is a point of contact for affiliated clubs and organisations and ECB.
